Free PAT testing
Both of our venues offer FREE electrical safety testing using a PAT tester. PAT means Portable Appliance Test. It's used to test any household (or office / workshop) equipment that has a plug on it.
A PAT test checks an item is safe to operate and won't give you an electric shock.
It does not test if the item actually works.

A test only takes a few of minutes. First we inspect the item for damage - its case, cable, switches and plug wiring. Then we plug your item into the tester and press the button for the type of item (metal, plastic etc.). Within seconds it delivers the result of safe or otherwise.
Sometimes you might be asked to prove your item has been tested as safe. We can apply a sticker to say it is.
Typical items we frequently test:
Sewing machines, table lamps, laptop power supplies, electric drills, food mixers... we see all sorts. Obviously we test items we have just repaired.
Your item does not have to need a repair. We are happy for you to make a short visit to get something safety checked while you have a cuppa.
