Massage Chair

 One of our repairer team also volunteers at our sister café in Dartford. Part of the adjustment mechanism of a massage chair brought into the Dartford Repair Café.    

Roberts Radio Repair

This radio was brought to the cafe.  It wasn't working at all except for a slight  thunk when switched on.  That meant the battery was powering it up, but nothing actually worked. The radio was opened up to expose the inner circuits.  Nothing looked broken. To find bad connections & solder joints the radio was switched on and the circuit board was tapped (with the wrong end of a ballpoint pen since that's plastic).  Tapping often produced further noises from the radio suggesting bad connections.  After a few such connections had been re-soldered the radio began to work.  With more tapping and soldering later, no more bad joints could be found. The volume control was cleaned out with special spray to stop awful scratchy noises when used. The headphone socket was internally broken, so it was bypassed since obtaining a new one was likely impossible.
